Experience, Inspirations & Resume
My name is Alison Imperato. I have been using all types of creative programs since Middle school and enjoy what I do for a living. I currently just graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in Semptember 2009 and look foward to working with employer's and companies through-out the many years to come.
Before 3D: Growing up, the world of Art has always been my number one love of life; Museums in NYC, japanese anime, creating work of my own. Computers are also something I have always been used to working with as well as knowing how to type 140 words her minute (i took a test in school). I attended Wilson Tech for two years during highschool and earned a 2-year certificate in Advertising Art (Graphic Design). I feel with the knowledge already given to me, has prepared me for the future and has put me in the right mind set by the time I started college. I knew everything from color wheels, to mounting final projects and have been good at using all kinds of Tradictional materials; pastel, prismacolor markers (marker rendering), clay modeling, ink, acrylic and oil paint. I also already had taught myself how to use html and css on my own time.
It was also during High School when I started growing a stronger love for 3D animations. Movies like "Bugs Life", "Ants", "The Incredibles" and "Finding Nemo", as well as the video games "Silent Hill" and "Star Wars Galaxies" have inspired me to persue a career in 3D. Creating characters by drawing them has always been something I have loved to do and I think it is amazing how you can create something 3 dimentional on screen. Knowing that 3d has become more frequently used in today's films and video-games, has only given me more of a reason to 3D Model for a career.
During College: I have a wider range of computer programs that I know, compared to when I first started at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. After only having experience in Photoshop and Illustrator, I began learning other programs that have to do with 3D, video-editing or website designing... Today I still continue to learn more programs that will help me improve my skills. Fellow students have also helped inspire me to do more with my work. Learning that there is nothing more amazing than using two minds to create something; I have worked on a "Living Room" project with Shana Wood and look foward to creating an animation of a walkthrough in the future! At a later date, I will add focus work of my room to my website. The corner I have modeled is already within my Deom Reel.
Current status? I am currently interested in any freelance offers given to me. Also, I am open to many different opportunities for me and can't wait for future expieriences working in the world of 3D. ^3^
